it's not easy... being green...

Tesla Roadster (Who says green has to be slow?)
It seems like every weekend there is a green event! I say bring it on! The past Green Homes Festival was a great success! Solar powered cars from Missouri S&T, a Tesla Roadster, wind turbines and rain gardens galore! There was so much to take in at once! I really enjoyed myself, but was a little worn out after twelve hours of volunteering, much of it labor intensive.

Also, Single stream recycling program is a GO at S.C.C! All recyclables can be thrown into one recycle container, no sorting, no questioning, just an easy toss! We are excited to be such a large part of the program and are working hard to make it successful!

So what other green events are on the horizon? One large student event is the Show Me Sustainability Conference at Maryville University, October 15-17. They have a really great lineup of speakers and workshops, and with all the buzz, it is sure to be the most successful student conference to date!

We here in the grounds department are busy working on some green projects that we are very excited about and will be debuting next year! I hope to keep you on the hook until then, but in the meantime, there is some beautiful fall weather waiting for your presence, get outside and explore it!
